Special Operations Para-Ops Unit: Arcane-Ops

The CyphreThe least militaristic part of SCORPIO, this unit's ranks maintain the services of noted arcane researchers and specialists, as well as several supernatural persons (witches, sorcerors, mystics) and entities (vampires, monsters, golems, fae, demons, demigods) who have been given basic SCORPIO Agent training. They are tasked with protecting the world from the occult and supernatural through research, investigation and intervention.  They are often called upon when cults and mystic orders are being called into question, such as The Circle of Thorns, The Cabal, and the Tsoo.

About Arcane-Operations:

Though coming from many different backgrounds, the Arcane-Ops team works as a cohesive and cooperative team within SCORPIO's Special Operations.  Certain proceedural standards are to be followed:

  • Agents are expected to follow the chain of command, but are equally expected to take personal responsibility for themselves and their brothers in arms should a field captain not be present.
  • Agents will respect the command of captains leading other divisions except where that command contradicts Arcane-Ops command and/or procedure.
  • Discretion and tactics in the field are expected. SCORPIO Arcane-Ops Agents will stay aware of the battlefield and work with their fellow SCORPIO Agents and allies as they do one another.
  • SCORPIO Arcane-Ops Agents should use deadly force only when absolutely necessary. Once incapacitated, the majority of criminals will be tagged and teleported to Zigursky Penitentiary for processing.
  • Illegal drug and/or substance abuse is not tolerated.

 

Background:

  • This is a moderate to heavy RP group. Your character's background should be indicative of magic powers and abilities... training that would allow them to participate and contribute. You aren't required to be ex-military to be an Agent but you should have a believable reason that you can operate in such a group. Additional SCORPIO Agent training is available for those who exhibit extraordinary paranormal talents or abilities.

Origin:

  • Arcane Unit Agents should be Magic or Natural in origin.

AT/Powersets:

Arcane Unit Agents 
Can have any AT/Powerset excluding assault rifle and/or devices. All powers and weapons should be played as arcane/magic in nature.

Uniform:

Arcane Unit Agents are strongly suggested to create/acquire a uniform of sorts, though it is not mandatory.This uniform has great flexibility considering the Agents background and origin. This uniform should be acquired no later than the third costume slot (Level 30, Level 20 if Costume Salvage is used).

Certain elements of the uniform will require paticular colors.

The recipe for the optional Arcane-Ops uniform is as follows...

Arcane-Ops Agent Field Uniform

  • Head > Masks with Hair
    • Face > (Any face) > Neck Cover
  • Upper Body > Tight
    • Chest > Exoproto
    • Chest Detail > Stealth (color 22)
    • Gloves > (Large or Smooth/Bare) > Leather Straps
    • Belt > Stealth (color 22)
  • Lower Body > Tight
    • Pants > Leather Straps>Leather Straps (color 21)
    • Boots > (Large, Smooth, Work or Stillettos) > Leather Straps


• Open Modifications: belt, head options, gloves, boots... any thing that changes should simply reflect small modifications made by the character to suit the nature of their specialty or indicitive of their character concept. Bear in mind that the uniform should still resemble an Arcane-Ops Agent uniform at it's most basic.

• Further Clarification: This outfit is what is considered the base, issued uniform of a standard Arcane-Ops Field Agent. An example of a character avatar utilizing aspects of this design would be a werewolf-esque character donning only the upper Leather Strap Pants, while the clawed feet, bared furry chest covered in chains, and clawed hands remain free-form for the character design. The idea here, is that the character has taken the uniform, and heavily modified it to fit.

• Exceptions: This uniform is not to be used to take away from the character concept. Instead it is to be used to bring the character more in line with the special militaristic feel we are attempting to portray in this organization. An example of a character that would NOT wear the uniform would be a ghost character, still trapped between life and death, wearing remnants of the clothes they died in. Other examples would be a sorceror, whos trapings show her old world style, or even a djinn come to our plane of existance to help free the world of it's daemons.

• OPTIONAL: Arcane Unit Agents may also choose to wear the Psi-Unit Agent uniform, as described on the Psi-Unit page.

Level:

As long as you fit the theme of the Arcane-Ops division, we accept all levels of characters.

Name:

The naming convention "Agent " is preferred, but your character's name can be their code name or their real name as well.

Age:

Your character should be at a mature enough age to operate professionally, and no younger than 18.

Respect/Maturity:

This group deals with themes of military styled combat, covert operations and lethal force. You should be able to speak maturely both IC and OOC.

Inactivity:

If you cannot Log In for an extended period of time, you should notify the group at once, as is courteous. Unexplained absence of more than 30 days will result in being dismissed from the group.

Communication:

Communication both IC and OOC is very important and should be clear. All OOC communication should either be in double parenthesis (( )), start with (OOC), or be in the SCORPIO global chat channel.

This OOC channel is to be strictly limited to active SCORPIO members and their alts.
