Spec-Ops

Spec-Ops

S.C.O.R.P.I.O. Special Operations

Cherry 9This division, comprised of weaponed Field Agents and mighty meta-human Agents, is a team of highly trained men and women, the majority of whom could captain their own team, but choose to work as a collective towards SCORPIO's stated goals of protecting the world from terrorist and 'extra-human' threats. Due to the fact that Spec-Ops Agents are primarily specially-selected 'normal' humans who come from various global Special Forces/Counter-Terrorist organizations, Spec-Ops remains somewhat secretive in it's operations and can be at times a bit ruthless in it's field duties. Spec-Ops Agents are trained in the containment and mitigation of meta-human, arcane and extraterrestrial threats (which has earned them the nickname "cape-killers" in the meta-human criminal underground). Despite it's reputation, the team normally focuses on organizations such as Arachnos, The Council, The Malta Group, Nemesis and Sky Raiders, barring special circumstances.

Special Operations also contains three specialized units with separate focus areas, these are:

  1. Special Agents
  2. Paranormal Operations (Para-Ops)

Agents within the specialized divisions have backgrounds specific to the particular area of interest.

Deputy Director: Cherry 9 (site: Ransim / global: @Ran Kailie)

Inspired by SHIELD, I.O., Rainbow Six, Black Razor + Stormwatch: Team Achilles

About Special Operations:

S.C.O.R.P.I.O. Special Operations is a paramilitary group. As such there are certain duty requirements that will be followed:

  • Agents are expected to follow the chain of command, but are equally expected to take personal responsibility for themselves and their brothers in arms should a field captain not be present.
  • Agents will respect the command of captains leading other divisions except where that command contradicts Spec-Ops command and/or procedure.
  • Discretion and tactics in the field are expected. SCORPIO Spec-Ops Agents will stay aware of the battlefield and work with their fellow SCORPIO Agents and allies as they do one another.
  • SCORPIO Spec-Ops Agents should use deadly force only when absolutely necessary. Once incapacitated, the majority of criminals will be tagged and teleported to Zigursky Penitentiary for processing.
  • Illegal drug and/or substance abuse is not tolerated.

Background:

  • This is a moderate RP group. Your character's background should be indicative of training that would allow them to participate and contribute. You aren't required to be ex-military to be an Agent, but you should have a believable reason that you can operate within such a group, as Spec-Ops offers additional training for individuals who have been recruited due to an exceptional ability.
  • All Spec-Ops Agents are selected and personally recruited by either S.C.O.R.P.I.O. Executive Director Jack Slayton, or Deputy Director Cherry 9. They look for only the best, and accept only the best from those who become Spec-Ops.
  • Spec-Ops is divided into two types of operatives:
    • Field Agents and PowerArmor Agents.

Origin:

  • Spec-Ops Field Agents should be Natural origin, but can also be mutant or science if explaining the character's secondaries as mutant abilities or as the result of experimentation.
  • Spec-Ops PowerArmor Agents should be Technology origin only.

AT/Powersets:

Field Agents

  • Blasters -
    • Primary - Archery, Assault Rifle
    • Secondary - Any (with a good RP reason like power/ice/fire gauntlets, etc.)
  • Tankers - .
    • Primary - Any (with a good RP reason like power/ice/fire gauntlets, personal forcefield, etc.)
    • Secondary - War Mace, Dual Blades
  • Defenders -
    • Primary - Trick Arrow, Force Field
    • Secondary - Archery
  • Scrappers -
    • Primary - Martial Arts, Claws, Katana, Dual Blades, Broad Sword
    • Secondary - Regeneration (played as nanobot-produced), Super Reflexes, Willpower

Field Agent UniformUniform:

Members are required to create/acquire a Spec-Ops uniform as soon as they are able, unless otherwise specified by the Spec-Ops Captain (Deputy Director Jericho). Exceptions would be for such things as Power-Armored characters, etc.

Certain elements of the uniform will require particular colors. A numbered color chart has been provided.

The recipe for the basic Spec-Ops uniform is...

Field Agent Uniform

  • Head > Masks with Hair
    • Face > (Any face) > Neck Cover
  • Upper Body > Tight
    • Chest > Exoproto
    • Chest Detail > Stealth (color 5)
    • Gloves > (Large or Smooth/Bare) > Leather Straps
    • Belt > Stealth (color 4)
  • Lower Body > Tight
    • Pants > Leather Straps>Leather Staps (color 2)
    • Boots > (Large, Smooth, Work or Stillettos) > Leather Straps
  • Open Modifications: belt, head gear, shoulders... any thing that changes should simply reflect small modifications made by the character to suit the nature of their specialty ... rifle users or blades users, etc. Bear in mind that the uniform should still STRONGLY resemble a Spec-Ops Agent uniform.
  • All male Field Agents should be around 6' in height. Females should be around 5'5". (This is a suggestion only, but use common sense if you're building a natural character; National height averages should be researched.)
  • A second SCORPIO Spec-Ops uniform can be made utilizing a trenchcoat (color 1), all other options remaining the same. The trenchcoat should display the SCORPIO scorpion emblem in medium grey (color 4).

Level:

As long as you fit the theme of the Spec-Ops division, we accept all levels of characters.

Name:

The naming convention "Agent " is preferred, but your character's name can be their code name or their real name as well.

Age:

Your character should be at a mature enough age to operate professionally, and no younger than 18. However considering the amount of experience one should have prior to becoming a Spec-Ops Agent your character will probably be in their 20's or older.

Respect/Maturity:

This group deals with themes of military styled combat, covert operations and lethal force. You should be able to speak maturely both IC and OOC.

Inactivity:

If you cannot Log In for an extended period of time, you should notify the group at once... as is courteous. Unexplained absence of more than 30 days will result in being dismissed from the group.

Communication:

Communication both IC and OOC is very important and should be clear. All OOC communication should either be in double parenthesis (( )), start with (OOC), or be in the SCORPIO global chat channel.

ALL CHARACTER PLAYERS must set up and use the global chat channel for out-of-character (OOC) chat.

SCORPIO OOC CHANNEL:

This OOC channel is to be strictly limited to active SCORPIO members and their alts.

Type the following command as shown (can be any key, not just 'numpad1'):
/bind numpad1 "beginchat /send ScorpOOC [$name]: "

Other useful binds to consider:
/bind numpad1 "beginchat ((OOC)): "
